The Most Requested Christmas Songs for 2019

Radio Domination

Christmas songs. Love them or loathe them, they’re one of the few genres that has managed to completely captivate the public consciousness annually for over 200 years. From the stoic carols of old through to modern hits like Mariah Carey’s iconic All I want for Christmas, from November ‘til Boxing Day it’s hard not to hear Christmas songs dominating the airwaves.

With the holidays around the corner, we thought we’d compile a list of the most popular Christmas covers song requests that get guests dancing.

All I want for Christmas

Released at the end of 1994, All I want for Christmas quickly cemented itself as the best-selling Christmas song of modern times, and went on to sell over 16 million copies, and amazingly is the 12th best selling single of all time! It catapulted Mariah Carey to absolute superstar status, where she has remained ever since.

An absolute holiday staple, Mariah has gone on to re-record it twice in updated versions, including a duet with Justin Bieber.

See our incredible Vintage Christmas Diva Australia smash this classic and more with her wintery set that’s guaranteed to delight.

White Christmas

Nothing can unite young and old quite like White Christmas. The best selling single of all time, this festive classic by Bing Crosby is as iconic as it gets. With generations growing up singing along, it’s one of those rare tracks that bridges the generational gap and sees fans of all ages come together.

With all great songs, it deserves a full-band experience to truly appreciate this stunning arrangement. Our Soul Band Sweden are on hand to perform a range of hits, and are perfect for embracing the spirit of Christmas. Here they are performing White Christmas.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

First unleashed upon an unsuspecting public in November of 1934, Santa Claus Is Coming sold an incredible 30,000 records in the first 24 hours of its release. Going on to be recorded by scores of artists such as The Jackson 5, Michael Bublé,The Andrews Sisters and many more, it has amassed a legacy few songs manage to come close to, and in doing so has cemented itself as one of the festive favourites year after year.

Our Acoustic Covers Band UK have it on lockdown, with a stunning stripped back rendition audiences love.

Jingle Bells

One of the older tracks on this list, Jingle Bells has been delighting audiences since the mid 1800s. Like many of the older Christmas songs on this list, it has been subsequently recorded by a range of musicians, including the ever-present Bing Crosby, Gwen Stefani, Barbara Streisand and many more.

Bonus Fact: Jingle Bells was the first song to be broadcast from space, with astronauts on the Gemini VI performing a rendition with a smuggled harmonica and some bells!

Our Vintage Holiday Trio embrace the golden era of Christmas singles and perform a stunning vocal rendition that adds a vintage twist to this classic.

Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart

The 1980s were an incredible time of musical exploration, stylistic adventure and political growth. But forget all that and let’s focus on what’s important! The mighty Christmas anthem that is Wham!’s masterpiece Last Christmas. Released in 1984, this festive masterpiece tells the story of a broken heart and unrequited love.

Following the immense success of the track, Wham! donated their royalties to the Ethiopian Famine effort.

Our St Petersburg Acoustic Duo loop a range of sounds to create a stunning rendition of this absolute banger!

Fairytale of New York

What list is complete without Fairytale of New York
Regularly voted as the UK’s favourite Christmas song, this rollercoaster of a track swings between beautiful melody and depressing lyrics, and perfectly represents the divide between the haves and the have-nots in society.
